A moment of beauty

" I am presenting to all of you, worldwide, my creation of a universal “moment of beauty.” It is designed to be observed collectively, and in unity, for what defines us all as equal human beings, understanding equal as everyone having the same rights and opportunities — and responsibilities as global citizens. To be able to be and to maintain our status as “people,” what makes us who we are. As simple as it is, in the context of all the complexities of the current state of global affairs.

I am asking all of you to pause in silence for a moment, wherever you might be and whatever you might be doing. Please rise, stand up in the quiet and extend your hand/s to the person/s beside you or in front of you, and hold your hands gently. Look softly at each other’s eyes, and smile, in harmony. You have created a moment of beauty. Thank you.

I am encouraging all of you to adopt globally this universal “moment of beauty.”

From the majestic mountain peaks of Davos (Switzerland) to the serene valley of Ezulwini (Eswatini) – known as “The valley of heaven,” adopt a moment of beauty.

From Gaudí's masterpiece of La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain) to the magnificent Duomo in Milan (Italy), adopt a moment of beauty.

From the United Nations General Assembly in New York (USA) to the openings of the Olympic Games (Globally), adopt a moment of beauty.

From concert halls, theaters, museum galleries and to sports stadiums, adopt a moment of beauty.

From all the corners of our cities, small rural villages, to the farmland, adopt a moment of beauty.

From places of worship, community gatherings, to schools and universities, adopt a moment of beauty.

From medical facilities, Innovation Labs, and to corporations, adopt a moment of beauty.

And from the core of our homes to the heart of our families, adopt a moment of beauty.

Thank you, all of you.

CREATE BEAUTY, IT BRINGS PEACE."

"Create beauty, it brings peace, beautifully written by Raquel Xamaní Icart, swept me into an incredible journey filled with calm, healing, and quiet wonder. She helped me pause, breathe, and truly feel the beauty that surrounds us every single day.

There is something undeniably special about Raquel and her voice—a tenderness, a wisdom, a beautiful soul that sees the world with rare clarity. Through her writing, she has helped me rediscover the beauty I had forgotten in the world, in myself, and in the people around me. She has given me the gentle push to appreciate more, see more, and feel more.  Thank you." Debbie Gaitten, Director of Human Resources, Capital University, Columbus, OH (USA)

Q&A w/Author

Universal peace...

Understanding peace as a societal friendship and harmony in the absence of hostility, war or conflict, I see peace as a universal pursuit and value equally for all. But while we cannot create peace, we can create beauty and that brings peace.

Beauty…

I perceive beauty as it translates to the world’s common humanity. There is beauty in the world, and it is good, and it is true. Good as a virtue, having a moral excellence and goodness quality. And true, reflecting the pure and essential quality of who we individually are.

Create beauty…

Look for beauty where it resides, inside our living being; where beauty is nested. By discovering and mastering of our own inner beauty, it allows us to recognize it and understand what constitutes who we are, what we are made of; and consequently, to be able to share it with the world. As we share, we create.

It brings peace…

We are our own instrument of peace, ourselves. I believe that only the journey inwards will unveil the road outwards to a better and peaceful world. We can be the addition to making this world a better and peaceful place; for all and by all combined.
